Aberystwyth Arts Centre is the largest of it's kind in Wales, providing entertainment including arts & crafts, entertainment, galleries & refreshments for everyone to enjoy. Aberystwyth Arts Centre first opened in 1970, the Concert Hall (the Great Hall) seats 900 people and is used for live music from Pop, Rock & Classical music throughout the year.

Aberystwyth University of Wales. Founded in 1872. First university institution to be established in Wales. Oringally based on the sea front in the "Old College". Now situated on Penglais hill.
1970 Concert Hall (the Great Hall) seating 900 opened. Designed by architect Dale Owen of Percy Thomas Partnership, architects of Cardiff's Millennium Centre.
1972 November, Exhibition Gallery and theatre (Theatr y Werin) seating just over 300, completed. Total cost at this time just over £1 million
80's and 90's workshops and studios, cafes, shops and bars opened
1984 Community arts and education programme was established
2000 April, £4.3 million redevelopment project was completed. Architect Peter Roberts. New facitilies included:
Purpose built workshop spaces
Pottery studio
Print room
Darkroom, video suite
Recording studio and music rooms
New 120 seater cinema
Dance studios
Studio theatre (seating 125)
New Grade 1 gallery (now totaling four)
Refurbishment of the theatre foyer, bars, craftshop and bookshop
The Arts Centre now attracts over 500,000 visitors a year
