Species most likely to be caught here are dogfish, flounder, whiting, pollock, mackerel, rockling, conger, and bass, all will take fish bait.
To enhance yout chances with bass and flounders, try using lugworm and/or peeler crab. The stone jetty which boarders the harbour entrance is a popular venue for anglers. Usually, bottom fishing finds dogfish, flounders and whiting. Float fishing and spinning finds pollock, bass and mackerel.
Care must be taken when fishing off the jetty, as there is a considerable drop on either side, and a large ground swell will sometimes break completely over the jetty itself.
When fishing safety is of parmount importance, care should taken where any dangers could occour, such as fishing of rocks, jetties, check local tide times, don't take risks and tell someone the time you are exspected home.
