I thought this is a great little restaurant. You really get the feel for a small family run restaurant, no mass produced food, all cooked fresh with lots of flavour. Its great to have a menu without chips, the rice was so soft tasty, also the salad was cut and prepared beuatifully. The meat is grilled, full of flavour. Even the dressings were out of this world (watch out for the chilli)! Cant speak high enough about this restaurant, the food was the nicest ive had anywhere this year, i would pay 20/30% more and still be happy because it was cooked and prepared so well and was so tasty. Also big fan of bring your own bottle. 10 out of 10, would definately recommend.

I love Le Casablanca, and here's why:
It's one of the most friendly restaurants in the town, and it serves the tastiest and most consistently reliable food. The style is Mediterranean with a North African influence; all the main courses are served with beautifully cooked basmati rice and a crisp salad - so it won't suit those whose meal is not complete without chips.
The cooking is all done by the proprietor and the combination of the charcoal grill and the skilled use of spices and precise seasoning is the key to that consistent experience. Try Joe's home made houmous, it's leagues ahead of supermarket tub stuff. The main courses are all equally enjoyable (my favourite is probably the lamb leg steak, and if you haven't tried a tagine then this is your opportunity.
Don't forget to take your own drinks - it's great to enjoy a bottle of wine with a meal out knowing that you're not paying two or three times the high street price.

One of the best restaurants in town with lovely service and atmosphere. They take great pride in their food and query whether it’s to your liking. Their BYO alcohol policy (with no corkage charge) is a great plus!

I recently discovered Le Casablanca whilst staying with some friends in Aberystwyth. Although we hadn't booked a table, and it was a really busy night, the staff made every effort to accomodate us. There was a great buzz in this little restaurant and the meal was one of the best I'd had in a long time and great value too! I would definately go back there again, and would recommend it to anyone who likes a friendly informal restaurant and good food.

Mixed experience with some fundamental flaws. The restaurant had made use of its small size and successfully turned 'small' into 'cosy' and the food was tasty, mostly fresh and well prepared. However, the experience was undermined by inadequate service. On arrival we received no welcome greeting or acknowledgement at all, the waitress deigning to make first contact and take our orders after over 20 minutes' wait. The choice not to play any music was unusual, as was the absence of a light, hand dryer or towel in the bathroom. The food was fairly priced at 9.95 or 12.95 for main courses. However, not one vegetarian option was advertised on the menu or wall boards. The only vegetarian dish offered upon request was a filo parcel served with a rather pedestrian side salad. It was difficult to equate the meal with the 12.95 price tag, which was the same for a huge lamb steak. At 10pm (on a Friday night) we were informed that the kitchen was closed. No offer of desert or coffee was made and it was another 20 minutes wait after the table was cleared before we got the bill, which we had to ask for. It's only fair to remark also that my friend Dave found a hair in his rice. Whilst the restaurant was comfortable, I would find it difficult to recommend a visit Casablanca and do not intend to go back there myself. There are many superior restaurants in Aberystwyth.
What are your memories of this restaurant!!!
