I'm at Aber uni and the day I moved here my mum and I came to The Orangery for lunch. It's a really nice building, great atmosphere. The food was really good, I had pepper stuffed with rice and spinach with a tomato sauce, bread and salad. The tomato sauce was AMAZING, lick the plate amazing. My mum had the tuna nicoise salad, which i tried a bit of and it was also really good. We both had puddings too; mum had panacotta with fruit and I had pear and almond tart with toffee ice cream and toffee sauce. I would happily have eaten about 10 portions of that pudding, it was SO. GOOD.
Overall, a pretty good experience, however it was a very busy Saturday (big influx of new and returning students) and they were obviously very short staffed (only 2 waitresses and a guy behind the bar). However, despite the staff being so busy they were really friendly and helpful (my mum can't eat wheat, and the waitress went to find out from the kitchen what she could order straight away). I'll give it 9 out of 10, in terms of that visit. I'm sure if it was a less busy day/less short staffed it would be a 10 though.
