Rummers is a favourite of mine and my friends, and many other students. The drinks aren't to expensive, a wonderful atmosphere and a beautiful pub! The only downside to this pub is that the staff are the rudest I have ever encountered. They argue with the customers, they argue with customers over drinks and I have even heard one of the staff shout at a customer when he complimented her. I have worked in a bar and would have been sacked if I had treated a customer in the way I have been treated by Rummers bar staff. It is a shame as the pub itself is beautiful.

The below review sounds strange indeed. Whilst Rummers is slightly on the expensive side, the great atmosphere (a good friendly mix of undergrads, postgrads, proffs. and locals), nice location and fantastic live music makes it worth it. Have never had bad service from Rummers and most wine is £10.50 a bottle, not too bad! Have had great times at Rummers and it sounds unfortunate that Gareth had such a bad experience!

I recently visited Aberystwyth and decided to go to Rummers Wine Bar with friends. I expected good service and affordable drinks, however I received none. The wine is expensive and the service from bar staff was awful! I was threatened when I did not drink my last glass of wine fast enough and was sworn to when I attempted to complain, by the person in question, his supervisor and manager. Our recommendation is, do not go here at all-ever!
